POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced RPG Developer III to join our Information Technology team. This role is responsible for the design, development, maintenance, and enhancement of in-house applications developed on the IBM i platform using RPG (all levels), CL/CLLE, and Websmart (PML, HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, CSS). Working with minimal supervision, the ideal candidate will collaborate cross-functionally with business analysts, technical peers, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust, scalable technical solutions.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in RPG programming and development across multiple complex projects.
  • Expert-level knowledge of:
  • RPG (all levels), CL/CLLE, and IBM iSeries (AS/400) systems
  • Binding directories, binder source, activation groups, prototypes, service programs, and stored procedures
  • Embedded SQL, web services, APIs, DB2, and performance tuning
  • Strong experience with data-centric architecture and design.
  • Working knowledge of:
  • Websmart, HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, Bootstrap
  • FTP, SFTP, DDM, SEQUEL, and XML
  • Proven ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and customer service orientation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Background in financial services or mortgage servicing industry.
  • Project management or change management experience.
  • High School diploma required; post-secondary education in Computer Science or related field preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain in-house software applications using RPG (all versions), CLLE, and Websmart on the IBM i platform.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, users, and team members to gather requirements and develop detailed technical specifications.
  • Create and utilize binding directories, binder source, prototypes, stored procedures, sub-procedures, and service programs.
  • Perform code reviews, provide guidance to junior developers, and support project delivery through all stages of the SDLC.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application errors; provide production support as needed.
  • Evaluate and integrate new and evolving technologies; assess potential business impact and provide recommendations.
  • Document software changes and support the development of training materials and job aids.
  • Lead and support departmental process improvement initiatives and technical projects.
  • Participate in knowledge-sharing, cross-training, and mentoring activities with junior team members.
  • Provide input for time tracking, project reporting, and resource planning.
