QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current Certificate of Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current BLS Certification

EXPERIENCE:

  • Recent clinical experience (minimum two years) in Cardiac Care and Acute Stroke/Stroke Rehab Nursing preferred
  • Recent related courses, in-services in Cardiac Care Nursing and Acute Stroke/Stroke Rehab Nursing preferred

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Ability to plan, organize and problem solve
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Excellent physical assessment skills
  • Ability to understand and interpret typical and atypical telemetry and cardiac monitoring preferred

REQUIRED SKILLS (to be completed within 3 months of hire):

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Recent Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia course or equivalent (current experience)
  • Recent 12 lead ECG interpretation course, or equivalent (current experience)
