POSITION SUMMARY

The Medical Unit is currently seeking a Temporary Full-Time Registered Practical Nurse to join their healthcare team.
Effective Date: June 30, 2025
Ending on or before Date: June 29, 2026

DEPARTMENT/UNIT/PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The Medical Inpatient Unit is an acute care unit supported by a patient-centered multi-disciplinary team which respects patients’ confidentiality, rights, and choices. All patients requiring medical care can be admitted to the medical program. The most common types of patients admitted to the unit are: acute coronary syndromes (heart attacks, angina), congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), diabetes, and pneumonia.
* Ross Memorial Hospital qualifies for the Government of Canada’s Student Loan Forgiveness Program. Nurses may be eligible to receive up to $30,000 in Canada Student Loan forgiveness *

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current Certificate of Registration
  • Current C.P.R. Certification, on hire
  • Certified in tracheotomy suctioning, continuous bladder maintenance and simple dressings
  • Demonstrated ability to deal co-operatively and effectively with all levels of staff and the public
  • Demonstrated high level of communication, organizational and time management skills
  • Current medication course for R.P.N.
  • Must be compliant with College of Nurses Quality Assurance Standards
  • Must be able to fulfill physical requirements of the job, as per current Physical Demands Analysis

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Trained in EPIC - training can be provided, but must pass required testing
