Description
Overview Performs comprehensive polysomnographic testing, analysis and associated interventions. Demonstrates through Decatur Morgan Hospital's mission, vision and values. Responsibilities Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions 1. Performs polysomnographic recordings and all technical duties related to the polysomnographic evaluation of sleep disorders with 95% accuracy. 2. Performs patient hook-up, machine calibrations and recordings according to established protocol and standard procedures. 3. Utililizes ancillary monitoring equipment that must be interfaced with the electroencephalograph /polygraph machine. 4. Continuously monitors patient activity-ensures patient safety and maintains quality recordings. 5. Performs record scoring and reporting to physicians in a timely manner. 6. Assumes responsibility for inservice education, continuing education and maintenance of registry/certification with 100% compliance Qualifications Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience RequiredEducation/Licensure: Must have high school diploma or GED; certificate from an accredited sleep education program ; RPSGT or ABSM preferred. Experience: No previous experience required, one to two years preferred. Additional Skills/Abilities: BLS required before the conclusion of the orientation period. Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly.
