JOB SUMMARY AND QUALIFICATIONS

We are currently looking for an ambitious Pulmonary Function Technician t to help us reach our goals. As a Pulmonary Function Technician on our team, you will evaluate the respiratory needs of and develop and implement the Respiratory Care Plan for your patients. Requirements:

• Current Florida Registered Respiratory Therapist licensure
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS, PALS and NRP within 6 months of hire.
• Graduate of Respiratory Care program accredited by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC)
• Frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling and moving equipment
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate actions in volatile situations
• Customer service abilities including effective listening skills
• Prefers 2 years experience as Pulmonary Function Technicia

PULMONARY TECHNICIAN DUTIES AS FOLLOWS:

• Performs calibration before initiation of procedure
• Verifies physician’s orders prior to performing procedure
• Performs text per departmental policy and procedure
• Assures completed test available for pulmonologist for interpretation
• Reports problems in performance of duties to supervisor/director promptly
• Notifies biomed of problems with equipment
• Changes mouthpiece and filter between each parties
• Charges and documents procedure properly

RESPIRATORY DUTIES AS FOLLOWS:

• You will be responsible for the application and operation of acute care ventilators used for continuous short and long-term mechanical ventilation
• You must be self-directed in the absence of the full-time Team Leader
• You will maintain all department and hospital records and enter accurate information into the hospital computer for the therapy as given

• You will perform your procedures with care and empathy for our patients

  Requirements:
