Balfour Beatty Rail is seeking a skilled and experienced RRV Fitter to become a key part of our Rail Plant team based in Hither Green.
In this vital role, you’ll deliver high-quality service support to our Hire Fleet and external customers, ensuring the reliability and performance of our machinery. You’ll provide comprehensive maintenance and repair coverage across the region, including out-of-hours support, helping us maintain our reputation for excellence in rail plant operations.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Key responsibilities include:

  • Repair, maintenance and preparation of equipment for hire, as directed by the Maintenance supervisor.
  • Maintain regular contact with the customer whilst in the field ensuring feedback on service quality and updating any relevant individuals of progress or problems.
  • Ensure regular communications with the Foreman Fitter regarding performance, coverage and objectives
  • Ensure smooth flow and control of paperwork for processing
  • Ensure best value practices are obtained in the procurement of goods and services.
  • Provide feedback on all safety issues to the Maintenance supervisor as required.
