    Qualifications
    Must have a Ph.D. doctoral degree in a field deemed relevant by the program and be within 3 years of completing their PhD doctoral degree. Research Fellow is appropriate for individuals who have completed no more than one prior postdoctoral fellowship, at Mayo Clinic or elsewhere.

Eligible candidates will have:

  • A Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Molecular Biology, Pharmacology and/or Immunology (but other degree emphasis may be considered)
  • Strong skills in molecular and cell biology techniques, animal handling, primary cultures, iPSC neural stem cell technologies, and quantitative analysis
  • Experience working with murine genetic models
  • Working knowledge of models of neural injury and regeneration
  • High quality research publications
  • A competitive desire to apply for National research grants to advance career
  • Willingness to lead independent research projects and to participate in team centered research studies

Regardless of Ph.D. degree emphasis, experience in neuroscience would be considered an asset, as would a particular interest in neural regeneration.
