As a Ruby on Rails Software Developer, you’ll play a critical role in driving our technology roadmap and shaping the future of our services. Your primary responsibility is writing and developing code to solve complex business processes.
The Ruby on Rails Software Developer contributes to the development and solutioning of backend processes. This role requires an individual with software development experience who can navigate complex systems, drive efficient processes, and help lead our technology-focused initiatives.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 5+ years Ruby/Rails experience
• 3+ years Unix (or equivalent) experience
• 2+ years experience with PostgreSQL
• 2+ years experience with Ruby unit testing frameworks (e.g. rspec)
• Handson experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, SQS, etc)
• Strong sense of ownership and a hunger to learn
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
• Must be flexible and able to pivot as needs and importance of projects change
• Positive, teamfirst attitude is vital for this role
• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
• Work authorization in the United States and based in the US
• The selected candidate must successfully complete a background check, conducted in accordance with local law/regulations, before beginning work.

Areas of contribution may include, but are not limited to:

• Design and Architecture: Develop and maintain the serverside logic, ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the frontend
• Database Management: Work with databases, primarily Postgres, to design schemas, write queries, and optimize performance
• Security: Implement security and data protection measures to safeguard sensitive information
• Testing and Debugging: Conduct unit testing and debugging to ensure the backend code is robust and errorfree
