Description

Rugby Physiotherapist
We are seeking an experienced Rugby Physiotherapist to deliver and further develop an outstanding physiotherapy service for the University of Bath Rugby Programme, which competes in the BUCS Super Rugby Competition.
This role includes direct collaboration with Bath Rugby Academy, offering a unique opportunity to work across both university and professional rugby environments.

ABOUT YOU

We’re looking for a motivated and skilled physiotherapist who thrives in high-performance sport. The ideal candidate will:

  • hold a degree (or equivalent) in Physiotherapy, with MCSP and HCPC registration.
  • have extensive experience as a Chartered Physiotherapist, including a strong background in sports physiotherapy.
  • hold a Sports Trauma Qualification (ACPSEM recognised, ideally PICIS Level 2 or 3).
  • demonstrate strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • be confident working independently and collaboratively in high-pressure environments.
  • be committed to continuous professional development, innovation, and service excellence.
  • be flexible with working hours, including evenings and weekends, and able to travel between sites.
Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • providing pitch-side trauma care, injury assessment, rehabilitation, and player education.
  • developing and managing physiotherapy services for both first and second teams.
  • working closely with coaches, support staff, and Bath Rugby Academy staff to ensure a holistic and performance-focused approach to athlete care.
  • leading clinical governance for player wellbeing, including concussion protocols, emergency action plans, and injury audits.
  • supporting placement students and contributing to the development of the wider rugby programme.

This is a great opportunity to work within a dual rugby environment, combining the performance university setting with the professional Bath Rugby Academy. You’ll be part of a vibrant, interdisciplinary team committed to athlete development, innovation, and excellence in sports medicine.
