Description Runner/Expediter plays a critical role in ensuring smooth and efficient food service operations. This position acts as the link between the kitchen and the dining areas, ensuring that orders are accurate, timely, and presented to guests with the highest standards of quality and hospitality. Essential Functions Communicate effectively between kitchen staff and servers to ensure timely delivery of food. Verify that all dishes leaving the kitchen meet presentation and quality standards. Transport food and beverages from the kitchen to designated dining areas promptly and safely. Assist servers in delivering large or complex orders to guests. Check plates for accuracy, temperature, and presentation before leaving the kitchen. Ensure special dietary requests and modifications are correctly handled. Assist with clearing tables, resetting dining areas, and maintaining cleanliness in service stations. Help with restocking supplies and organizing service areas as needed. Provide courteous and professional assistance to members and guests when interacting during service. Respond promptly to any additional requests from servers or guests. Effectively and efficiently utilize the KDS display terminal. Knowledge, Skill, Experience Previous experience in hospitality or food service required. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail. Minimum of two years’ experience in prior food runner, expo, or service capacity. Schedule Required to work a varied schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays. Blackout Dates: New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving, Easter, Month of December. Working Conditions While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, hear, taste and smell. The employee frequently is required to stand, use hands and fingers to handle and utilize objects, tools and controls. Occasionally, may be required to lift 10 to 60 lbs and carry 100- 200 FT. Temperatures vary from freezer to oven. Physical Tasks Lifting/Carrying 20lbs or more, pushing over 20lbs, Keyboard/Ten Key, Fingering, Handling (grasping, holding), Repetitive Motion – Hands, Repetitive Motion- Feet, reach over shoulder, reach overhead, reach outward, Climb, Crawl, Kneel, Squat, Sit, Walk-Slippery Surfaces, Stand, Bend. Requirements Schedule This is a part-time position. Candidates must be available to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Blackout Dates (Required Availability): · New Year's Day · Easter · Thanksgiving · The entire month of December Physical Requirements · Stand and walk for extended periods. · Lift and carry up to 50 pounds. · Push and pull carts or equipment as needed. · Frequently bend, squat, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive movements. · Work comfortably in varying temperatures, including kitchen and refrigeration areas.
