Description SUMMARY: Performs deliveries and routes for the Firm as well as Firm clients in a timely, efficient and accurate manner, in addition to being a part of and supporting the File Room Department by performing the following duties. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Picks up and delivers mail to and from the post office in the morning and afternoon. Utilizes Internet maps to plan deliveries for the most efficient route in the Shreveport/Bossier area. Delivers tax returns, payroll, and other documents to client’s downtown and in the Shreveport/Bossier area in a timely and efficient manner and in accordance with the established schedule. Logs mileage of deliveries made outside of the office. Picks up route boxes, ensuring in-office letters/documents are delivered quickly and accurately. Deposits checks for clients and/or employees of Heard, McElroy & Vestal. Enters time and expenses into the Firm’s billing software. Assists File Room with scanning and other office duties as needed and as time permits. COMPETENCIES: Ability to communicate well with others on staff, both orally and in writing. Ability to manage work load and deadlines. Must be dependable, well organized, punctual, detail oriented, and have the ability to prioritize tasks. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of the Internet, Microsoft Outlook, office equipment, computer hardware and peripheral devices. Physical Demands/Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, talk or hear, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
