Position Summary Food Runners are the bridge from the kitchen to the front of the house. They are responsible for quickly and accurately delivering orders from the kitchen to the customers. Duties & Responsibilities Assist when asked with guest requests and when needed for server needs. Answer guests’ questions about ingredients and menu items. Clearing any dishes from tables when necessary. Ensure food is served in accordance with safety standards (e.g., proper temperature). Provides an accurate description of dishes delivered. Communicate with the servers in any manner pertaining to guest requirements. Having knowledge of kitchen flow, communicating when appropriate to the rest of the front of house staff. Deliver food to the correct table and place at the assigned position number. Maintaining cleanliness by picking up any debris or spills/grease on the floor. Possesses in-depth knowledge of all food and beverage menus. Mark shared dishes with the appropriate utensils. Communicate with expo any pivotal information pertaining to the delivery of dishes to guests. All other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for extended periods. Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously. May be required to lift trays of food or food items weighing up to 30 lbs. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks. Must be able to bend and lift up to 50 lbs. Skills/Experience Six (6) months previous bar, restaurant, or hotel experience. Current food handler card. Excellent listener and communicator. Ability to focus on guest interaction and multitask. Team player and able to anticipate others’ needs. Positive Attitude. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays when required.
