You will provide vital support, resources, and encouragement to Iowans living with disabilities, meeting them directly in their homes and on their farms. Join us in helping farm families maintain their way of life through community coordination, practical resources, and a message of hope. Principle Accountabilities: • Provide on-site evaluation and training for clients to increase independence. • Provide Assistive Technology assessments, demonstrations, tours, loans, and evaluations. • Develop rehabilitation plans and implement the objectives and goals of the plan using a client-responsive approach for farm family members and rural residents eligible for the Rural Solutions Program statewide. • Implement services as requested through the Veterans Administration Low Vision Services. • Document client contact and maintain client confidential records. • Plan and communicate travel to collaborate with delivery of equipment through the Assistive Technology Program, Veterans Administration Low Vision Services, and Rural Solutions. • Provide and develop awareness, training, and presentations for partners that increases knowledge and referrals to programing. • Complete individual and program monthly demonstrations as required for partners and contracts. • Maintain up to date NATADs online inventory for the Assistive Technology Lending Library in collaboration with the RS/AT Team. • Utilize community resource people, places, and materials to provide needed solutions for clients. • Appropriately document client information, and progress as required for partnerships and agency requirements. • Work closely with Marketing and Communication Coordinator to develop and implement marketing, education, and outreach strategies for the AT Center and Rural Solutions program. • Provide back-up to other department members as needed and directed. • Other duties as assigned. The is a full time position with wage beginning at $18.25 and advancing to $18.50 after a successful 90-day orientation and training period. The interview process consists of first phone interview with Recruitment and Talent Development Coordinator and 2nd in person interview with Department Specific Team Leader. Requirements Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree preferred. • Experience working with people with disabilities and ability to identify creative solutions required. • Understanding of agricultural worksite and farming as a way of life. • Understanding of assistive technology and accommodation evaluations. • Ability to work independently and prioritize and organize assignments. • Ability to work nontraditional hours as needed. • Ability to collaborate cooperatively with team members and public in a professional and concerned manner. • Ability to communicate effectively in written or verbal formats. • Ability to operate a computer and navigate through Easterseals database. Experience in word processing software; Word and Excel preferred. • Ability to work under pressure, maintain accuracy, and meet deadlines. • Ability to pass Mandatory Reporter within first 30 days. • Ability to travel the state of Iowa as needed to meet with clients. • Ability to ambulate independently throughout farms, client’s homes, buildings, and grounds. • Ability to bend, stoop, twist and lift. • Ability to transfer or move a minimum of 80 pounds. • Access to reliable transportation for regular participation in work. • Possession of valid Iowa Driver’s License and maintenance of good driving record. • Insurable under Easterseals vehicle insurance policy
