QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED (general equivalency diploma); or 6 months to 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous RV technician and forklift experience preferred and considered an asset (2-3 years preferred).
  • Propane License or RV1 or RV2 License required.
  • Journeyman preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and Technician Certification are desirable.

Responsibilities
  • Examine/troubleshoot and diagnose units needing repair and maintenance.
  • Discuss repairs and communicate additional requests with the shop foreman and RV service advisor.
  • Provide plan work procedures and labor time estimates to the RV service advisor and shop foreman.
  • Install/repair and maintain interior and exterior components on motorhomes, travel trailers, and fifth wheel trailers such as roof, siding, windows, doors, awnings, vents, floor cabinets, counters, plumbing systems, electrical systems, propane gas systems, batteries and charging systems, body, and structural components.
  • Install accessories, perform pre-delivery inspections, troubleshoot, repair and conduct maintenance on propane gas and electric appliances - furnace, refrigerator, water heaters, and A/C units.
  • Install hitches – including fifth wheel and wiring of tow vehicles.
  • Use testing equipment / troubleshooting techniques / manufacturers specs and internet websites.
  • Monitor repair time and update RV service advisor regularly.
  • Maintain strict adherence to dealership policies on RV care and operation.
  • Complete story and/or documentation for client repairs.
  • Assist in mentoring mobile RV technician trainees (if required).
  • Attend company and factory training and keep current with factory technical bulletins.
  • Understand and follow federal, provincial, and local regulations (such as disposal of hazardous waste)
