QUALIFICATIONS:

Grade 12 education supplemented by completion of an office administration program certificate; typing speed of 50 wpm; proficient in Microsoft Office Programs; minimum of two years of current clerical experience, preferably within a school district; familiarity with student designations as determined by the Ministry of Education; experience in the use of relevant office equipment; meets the physical requirements of the position; ability to work independently and as a member of a team; excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Duties are performed under the supervision of the District Principal/Vice Principal/Director of Inclusive Education or designate; prepares a variety of correspondence, reports, and other necessary material using appropriate word processing equipment; assists with preparation and maintenance of highly confidential district student records and related paperwork; receives and releases assessment reports or other confidential documentation in accordance with ministry and district standards; uploads nonconfidential reports, including Kindergarten transition documents to the district’s student information system; enters inclusion records into the district’s student information system and ensures inclusion records at district schools are up to date; compiles and processes staff documents including the processing and verification of staff attendance and replacement through the district Attendance Management System and other necessary reporting forms as required; processes referrals and Ministry of Designation requests for the Inclusive Education Department; processes district psychological, behavioural and emotional assessment reports; organizes district professional development workshops on behalf of the Inclusive Education Department; uploads and coordinates Assistive Technology forms (load requests, security usage plans, approvals, etc.; performs telephone and reception duties; processes incoming and outgoing mail and other material; assists with other office duties as directed by the principal or senior clerical staff; follows proper work procedures, observes all regulations pertinent to the work, maintains a good working relationship with other employees, and cooperates in maintaining a healthy learning and working environment; performs other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor
