S2526-20 EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANTS - H. E. BOURGOIN MIDDLE SCHOOL

We are seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE) Educational Assistant commencing with the start of the 2025-2026 school year. This assignment involves assisting with student educational program needs including social skills, behaviour skills, self-help and personal care needs. This position requires a compassionate and energetic individual to work in a team environment.
H.E. Bourgoin Middle School is located in the Town of Bonnyville with approximately 290 students from grades 5-8. H. E. Bourgoin Middle School is committed to young adolescences, has a shared vision, has high expectations for all, believes in an adult advocate for every student, has family and community partnership and has a positive school climate.

Preference will be given to applicants who have:

• Post-Secondary training and/or experience as an Educational Assistant
• Knowledge and experience with behavioral strategies
• Experience working one-on-one and/or in group settings
• Knowledge of documentation procedures and proficiency with computers
• Knowledge and experience in alternate communication strategies
• Experience assisting students with self-help and personal care needs
• Familiarity with strategies to address different learning styles and experience with Individual Program Plans

TRAINING AND SKILLS THAT WOULD BE AN ASSET INCLUDE:

• Relative experience in educational assistance, nursing and/or rehabilitation
• SIVA and/or Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training
