QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

The Department of English, Drama, and Creative Writing is hiring peer tutors (one position in the Fall term, and one in the Winter term) to assist students with their writing assignments in 30.145 and 30.147. Students in all sections of both courses will be advised that a tutor is available, and will be able to make one-on-one appointments with the tutor to seek assistance with their writing. The peer tutor(s), therefore, must be proficient in the English language and in writing essays of literary criticism. Ideally, the tutor(s) will be completing, or have completed, a Bachelor’s Degree in English literature, and will show proficiency in essay writing.

Duties:

  • Offer assistance to students in all sections of 30.145 and 30.147 with writing assignments, which may include attention to grammar, writing style, paragraph structure, essay organization, and/or thesis statements.
  • Meet with students in person or virtually to answer questions and offer advice on writing.
  • Attend meetings, as required, with instructors of 30.145 and 30.147.
  • Other relevant duties as assigned.
