Description Hourly nonexempt $26-$29/hour depending on experience Schedule Full-time position with occasional evening and weekend responsibilities to support sacramental celebrations, faith formation programs, parish events, and ministry activities. Reports to Operations Manager Position Summary The Sacramental Life & Parish Administration oversees the parish's sacramental ministries, faith formation programs, and key administrative functions. This position accompanies parishioners through major moments of faith, coordinates sacramental preparation and records, supports liturgical and volunteer ministries, and assists with parish office operations. The ideal candidate is a practicing Catholic who is organized, pastoral, and mission-focused, with strong communication and administrative skills. This role requires collaboration with clergy, staff, volunteers, and parishioners to ensure parish ministries and operations are carried out with excellence, hospitality, and fidelity to the mission of the Church. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed to support the evolving needs of parish ministry. Essential Responsibilities Sacramental Life and Pastoral Care Oversee the parish Marriage Preparation Program. Coordinate and manage all marriage preparation documentation and sacramental records. Oversee Baptism Preparation for parents and families. Coordinate and manage all baptismal paperwork and records. Organize and coordinate funeral planning and logistics in collaboration with clergy, family members, funeral homes, and parish staff. Coordinate sacramental preparation and documentation for all parish sacraments as assigned. Maintain the accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of sacramental records and registers. Assist parishioners with sacramental certificate requests and record inquiries. Ensure compliance with diocesan sacramental policies and procedures. Provide pastoral accompaniment and support to individuals and families preparing for the sacraments. Family Faith Formation and Sacramental Preparation Oversee family faith formation programs. Implement and manage the Pathways curriculum for family faith formation and sacramental preparation. Recruit, train, supervise, and support catechists and volunteers. Coordinate sacramental preparation for First Reconciliation, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation. Equip and engage parents as the primary educators of their children in the Catholic faith. Ensure compliance with Diocesan Safe Environment requirements for children, volunteers, and staff. Adult Faith Formation and OCIA Oversee the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA). The position will not be required to teach. Manage all OCIA documentation, sacramental paperwork, and records. Develop and oversee adult faith formation opportunities. Coordinate parish small groups, Bible studies, and ongoing formation programs. Coordinate logistical details for formation classes and events. Meet with inquirers and candidates to assist in discernment and faith formation. Coordinate liturgical rites, sacramental celebrations, and participant records. Liturgical and Ministry Coordination Assist with scheduling and communication for lay liturgical ministers. Maintain ministry rosters, contact information, and scheduling systems. Coordinate substitute coverage and communicate scheduling changes. Assist with arranging priest coverage for liturgical and pastoral needs. Maintain clergy availability information and communicate assignments. Support liturgical planning and coordination as needed. Parish Administration and Operations Organize and maintain sacramental records, ministry files, parish databases, and documentation. Generate reports, lists, and correspondence as needed. Answer incoming calls when primary staff are unavailable, provide parish information, and direct inquiries appropriately. Prepare correspondence, mailings, forms, certificates, promotional materials, bulletin announcements, and ministry communications. Coordinate calendars, facilities, materials, and ministry logistics. Maintain ministry procedures and operational systems. Assist with budget planning and ministry resource management. Ensure compliance with diocesan Safe Environment requirements and parish policies. Anticipated hire date: August 17, 2026 Application deadline: August 1, 2026, or until filled Requirements Qualifications Be a fully initiated Catholic in the communion of the Catholic Church and intentionally living out the five precepts of the Church (CCC 2041-2043). Bachelor's degree in theology, religious education, pastoral ministry, business administration, or related field preferred. Experience in parish ministry, faith formation, sacramental preparation, or parish administration preferred. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. Experience coordinating volunteers and ministry teams. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and parish database systems. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic ministry environment. Pastoral sensitivity and compassion. Strong leadership and team-building abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping. Ability to work collaboratively with clergy, staff, volunteers, and parishioners. Strong administrative and project management skills. Commitment to hospitality, stewardship, and evangelization.
