POSITION SUMMARY The Safe at Home Liaison plays a vital role in executing outreach activities to increase awareness and compliance for the Safe at Home program within the Ohio Secretary of State's office. The Liaison will work closely with the Safe at Home Administrator to ensure that everyone eligible for the program is aware of how they can join, build partnerships with local organizations in the community, and deliver the highest degree of service. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Outreach Activities • Conduct outreach to raise awareness of the Safe at Home program. • Engage with eligible individuals and ally organizations. Collaboration with Government Entities • Meet with local government entities (judicial, prosecutor, law enforcement, etc.). • Collaborate with Board of Elections and Jobs and Family Services. Participation in Events • Attend partner association meetings, events, and conferences. • Build and maintain relationships with local businesses for Ohio Businesses Against Trafficking. Training and Support • Recruit and assist in developing training for application assistants. • Serve as an application assistant for victims as needed. • Collaborate with the Safe at Home Administrator to deliver training on the program’s requirements. Confidentiality and Communication • Maintain confidentiality and sensitivity regarding participant information. • Respond to inquiries from application assistants, participants, and the public via phone and email. Program Management • Process mail as needed. • Prepare reports, presentations, and materials for program evaluation and improvement. Legal and Resource Knowledge • Stay informed on laws, regulations, and resources concerning domestic violence, human trafficking, and sexual violence. Site Visits and Promotion • Conduct NVRA site visits to local libraries and BMV locations, distributing posters and brochures. Policy and Legislation • Provide input into policy and legislation related to the program. Travel Requirements • Travel for outreach and training may require overnight stays. Additional Duties • Perform other assignments as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education • Preferred: Associate’s degree in social work, public administration, criminal justice or a related field. Experience • Required: o Excellent client-facing communication skills. o Excellent written and verbal communication skills. o Solid organizational skills, including excellent attention to detail. o Experience with Microsoft Office products. o Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. • Preferred: o Experience with Microsoft Teams. o Experience serving survivors of domestic violence, human trafficking, sexual assault, or stalking. o Knowledge of crime victim protection and confidentiality laws. o Experience in public speaking, including trainings and presentations to various audiences. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities • Represent and present on behalf of Safe at Home. • Establish and maintain interpersonal relationships. • Follow SOS policies and procedures, as well as applicable state and federal laws. • Interpret and follow a variety of instructions in written, oral, or picture format. • Keen attention to detail, accuracy in work and organization skills. • The ability to enter, maintain, and run reports off information in a database. • Handle sensitive and confidential inquiries from employees and participants.
