OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Safety Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our comprehensive health and safety management program.

Additional Requirements:

  • 3+ years experience in a manufacturing industrial setting.
  • Prior experience in developing and implementing safety programs and effective training programs is required.
  • Must be able to influence and motivate employees, enforce company safety policies and procedures, and recommend corrective actions.

Responsibilities

Responsible for cultivating a safety conscious work environment and positively influencing safety practices among all employees.

  • Coordinate Safety Loss Control program: safety training, policy updates and compliance audits.
  • Direct and actively involved in a behavior based, proactive safety program.
  • Promotes proactive and preventive safety activities by observing, analyzing, encouraging safe work behaviors and correcting unsafe conditions. Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local regulations, standards, codes and company policies.
  • Executes, measures, and monitors process to assess overall safety and performance, and to identity opportunities for improvement.
  • Work with the Safety Committee Lead to ensure that all operational activities are clearly identified and risks assessed to ensure safe working procedures are developed and any safety hazards are appropriately controlled.
  • Responsible for effective communication across all departments, ensuring safety policies and training are initiated for new equipment and locations, accident investigation and incident reduction.
  • Educates, trains and provides support to operations in the development and execution of consistent safety management programs.
  • Conducts new hire safety and compliance training.
  • Working knowledge of MIOSHA & MDOT requirements and regulations
  • Maintains SDS and Haz Com program
  • Assists and documents incident investigations to ensure root cause analysis and that proper corrective actions are implemented to prevent future incidents.
  • Develop and effectively communicate safety initiatives plant-wide.
