Job Description We are currently seeking a proactive Safety Advisor to join our Health, Safety, and Training Department. In this role, you will be essential in supporting and enhancing our safety programs and ensuring compliance with legislative requirements. Reporting to the Safety Superintendent, this role is pivotal in supporting operational team leaders in the effective implementation of the Safety and Health Management System (SHMS) and ensuring compliance with the Queensland Coal Mining Safety and Health Act (CMSHA). Key Responsibilities Foster a strong, visible safety culture across all departments Support operational teams in the implementation and continuous improvement of the site Safety Management System (SMS) Ensure compliance with QLD coal mining legislation, standards, and site SHMS Support risk management processes including: Principal hazard management plans Bowtie and critical control verification ICAM / incident investigations About You Significant experience in a Safety Advisor role within an open cut coal mining operation Strong working knowledge of: QLD Coal Mining Safety & Health Act and Regulations Recognised Standards and Principal Hazard Management Strong incident investigation and risk management capability Confident communicator with a practical, collaborative approach Proficient in Microsoft Excel Qualifications & Requirements Degree or Diploma in Work Health & Safety (or equivalent) ICAM Lead Investigator (desirable) Current Queensland Coal Board Medical & Standard 11 Industry Risk Management Qualifications What’s on Offer Competitive remuneration package Stable, long-term role within a high-performing operation Opportunity to make a genuine impact on safety culture and performance Supportive leadership team and values-driven organisation Advancing careers.
