SMG seeks a Safety Advisor - Construction/Manufacturing in Aiken, SC. Travelers will be accepted for this role. The key function of a Safety Advisor is to put safety at the forefront of their job, prioritize the client's needs, work well in a team setting, be self-managed, and be flexible when it comes to change. This person will be responsible for implementing contractor safety management. This is a 12-24 month long project. The building is complete, they are now installing the interior equipment, cranes, etc. This person will oversee all contractor activity. Schedule is Monday - Friday. 40-45 hours per week. Overview of Job Responsibilities: Acquire expert knowledge of the Management Standard Construction & Installation Projects Design, Planning, & Management. Site safety observations, including documentation of findings Actively participate in pre-bid, pre-construction, progress, owner, event review, safety teams, daily coordination, stand-down's, and other HSE related requests Facilitates corrective measures were warranted Represents the contractor or Owner in progress meetings Verifies compliance with safety policies and procedures as required by law, the Owner or contractor Provides incident management and support Interact with craftspeople and promote a safe working culture Documentation and Report preparation Conducts Contractor program review Requirements 5+ years of previous Construction Safety experience Bachelor's degree in safety or related fields preferred BCSP Certifications is a plus: CSP, CHST Safety Program Development Experience Demonstrated Safety Leadership Technical Construction understanding Ability to engage professionally with clients and contractors Physical Demands of the job may include: Moving about long distances Ascending/Descending stairs and ladders Remaining in a stationary position for a prolonged period Working in extreme weather Being exposed to loud noises Wearing personal protective gear correctly Join an elite group of Safety Professionals!
