SMG seeks a Safety Advisor - Manufacturing in Baltimore, MD. Travelers will be accepted for this role. The key function of a Safety Advisor is to put safety at the forefront of their job, prioritize the client's needs, work well in a team setting, be self-managed, and be flexible when it comes to change. This person will be responsible for implementing contractor safety management. This is a 6 month long project. Our client may look to bring this person on full-time after the contract phase. This person will be the Site Plant Safety Advisor to assist staff with safety leadership, new hire, culture development, and problem solving. Overview of Job Responsibilities: Site safety observations, including documentation of findings Actively participate in all HSE related requests Facilitates corrective measures were warranted Represents the contractor or Owner in progress meetings Verifies compliance with safety policies and procedures as required by law, the Owner or contractor Provides incident management and support Interact with craftspeople and promote a safe working culture Documentation and Report preparation Conducts Contractor program review Requirements 6-10 years of safety experience in a manufacturing/general industry setting Experience overseeing confined space, LOTO, program and culture development Bachelor's degree in safety or related fields preferred BCSP Certifications is a plus: ASP/GSP is preferred Safety Program Development Experience Demonstrated Safety Leadership Ability to engage professionally with clients and contractors Physical Demands of the job may include: Moving about long distances Ascending/Descending stairs and ladders Remaining in a stationary position for a prolonged period Working in extreme weather Being exposed to loud noises Wearing personal protective gear correctly Join an elite group of Safety Professionals!
