SMG seeks a Safety Advisor – Construction in West Lafayette, Indiana – Day Shift The key function of a Safety Advisor is to put safety at the forefront of their job, prioritize the client’s needs, work well in a team setting, be self-managed, and be flexible when it comes to change and travel. The Associate in this role will work in a construction environment. This project is scheduled to last for 4 months. They will work 50 hours Monday - Friday and 8 hours on Saturday. This is a new construction project of a semiconductor. This person will be overseeing earthwork. Overview of Job Responsibilities Site safety observations, including documentation of findings Must be able to create reports, run safety metrics, and use other software programs Conduct Job Hazard Analysis Provides incident management and support Documentation and Report preparation Support and Coordinate Crew communication with on site GC Safety Staff with daily work permits Daily support, advise, guidance on OSHA compliance / Site compliance and safe behavior enforcement Enforce Owner Site Safety Plan Use of Owner's Safety Software – Safety Reports Communication with Safety Director Assist in Basic First Aid and incident investigations with RCA – STKY process. Requirements Seven plus years of construction safety experience Must have a CHST or higher BCSP certification Heavy civil experience needed Ability to use safety software systems A degree in safety or related fields is preferred First-aid/CPR certification from the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association OSHA 510 Physical Demands of the job may include Moving about long distances Ascending/Descending stairs and ladders Remaining in a stationary position for a prolonged period Working in extreme weather Being exposed to loud noises Wearing personal protective gear correctly Join an elite group of Safety Professionals!
