SMG seeks a Safety Advisor – General Industry - in Central Indiana. The key function of a Safety Advisor is to put safety at the forefront of their job, prioritize the client’s needs, work well in a team setting, be self-managed, and be flexible when it comes to change and travel. The Associate in this role will work in a construction environment. This person will travel to different client sites throughout the state of Indiana. Overview of Job Responsibilities Site safety observations, including documentation of findings Safety program review/development Visit General Industry clients to perform site audits and assessments Provide training Administer Safety Partner Program to multiple General Industry clients Verify compliance with safety policies and procedures as required by law, the Owner, and contractors Provides incident management and support Documentation and Report preparation Requirements Four plus years of General Industry safety experience A degree in safety or related fields is preferred ASP or CSP is preferred but not required Experience reviewing safety programs Experience providing training and site audits First-aid/CPR certification from the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association OSHA 30-hr General Industry Physical Demands of the job may include Moving about long distances Ascending/Descending stairs and ladders Remaining in a stationary position for a prolonged period Working in extreme weather Being exposed to loud noises Wearing personal protective gear correctly Join an elite group of Safety Professionals!
