Description Kanza Cooperative is seeking a Safety & Compliance Manager to champion a safe, compliant, and collaborative workplace across all Cooperative locations. This key role oversees safety and compliance programs, ensures regulatory adherence, and fosters a culture where employees feel supported, informed, and empowered to work safely every day. This position may be based out of one of the following locations: Andale, Cheney or Iuka, KS. What You’ll Do Lead all safety and compliance initiatives, including training, audits, investigations, and program development. Maintain DOT driver files, safety records, and document retention in accordance with state and federal requirements. Partner with managers to strengthen safety communication and employee engagement. Develop, implement, and update safety procedures and best practices. Coordinate with agencies and vendors to ensure regulatory compliance. Support a positive, professional work environment built on respect and accountability. Respond promptly to internal questions and provide exceptional service to employees and managers. Manage multiple priorities with a strong focus on safety, organization, and leadership. Perform additional related duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities The Safety and Compliance Manager oversee all safety and compliance programs and provides indirect supervision to Cooperative managers. This includes interviewing, hiring, and training employees; assigning and directing work; evaluating performance; and addressing concerns in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, and applicable laws. The role also collaborates with other division managers to ensure efficient use of personnel and resources. Requirements EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE To be successful in this role, an individual must be able to perform all essential duties effectively. A bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS The employee must be able to obtain required certifications and licenses such as fall protection competency, 1A or 7B licenses, and safety or environmental certifications (e.g., OSHT, CSO). A valid driver's license is required for travel between the Kanza Cooperative locations and work sites. This role requires sound judgment and problem-solving skills to assess workplace hazards and choose appropriate precautions and protective equipment.
