SAFETY AND COMPLIANCE OFFICER -TRUCKING COMPANY

We are a well-known trucking company and have an immediate opening in our fast paced Delta office. We’re looking for an individual who works well with others and to help with the operations of the Safety and Compliance Department.

EXPERIENCE:

· Experience interpreting and applying legislation, regulations or policies.

· Familiarity with trucking compliance and regulations required

Responsibilities

· Chosen candidate will be the primary contact person for the Safety and Compliance Department and responsible for the smooth operation of this department
· Screen out applicants to fill existing opening while maintaining current knowledge of transportation laws, DOT regulations, and company hiring criteria, as well as maintaining and promoting Company safety goals.
· Run maintenance and plan service schedule
· Deal with driver issues
· Audit driver logbooks to ensure compliance with National Safety Code and DOT regulations
· Maintain and troubleshoot E-log system
· Deal with ICBC claims and maintain Accident and Incident files
· Ensure all required paperwork is up-to date: follow up with drivers to receive renewed copy of expired paperwork
· Responsible for issuing permits and ensuring all permits are up to date (Authority Binder)
· Maintain all filing to ensure compliance with the NSC regulations (logbooks, driver files, vehicle files, and tickets/CVSA)
· Monitor ELD system to ensure compliance with NSC regulations
· File IFTA and Oregon miles by deadline
· Perform other related duties as assigned
· Assist with other departments as required
