Job Description: Maryland Environmental Service has an opening for a Safety and Environmental Compliance Associate I within the Safety and Environmental Compliance Department at our Headquarters facility in Millersville, MD. This position assists with the implementation of the Service’s safety and environmental compliance programs and the Compliance-Focused Environmental Management System. Primary duties include conducting weekly statewide facility audits and inspections and ensuring facilities implement corrective actions as necessary. Additional responsibilities include conducting employee training classes, assisting with ranking environmental, safety, and health hazards and their resolution, and maintaining facility records. Estimated Pay Range: $60,782.49 - $70,782.00 Benefits: Health Insurance with choice of medical plan and prescription, dental, vision, and life and disability insurance options, along with flexible spending accounts 401K retirement savings program with generous agency match Paid vacation, personal and sick leave Eleven paid holidays per year Tuition assistance Minimum Requirements: Graduation from high school or GED plus one year experience in the safety or environmental compliance field. Note: Applicants may substitute an advanced applicable education degree in the safety, public health or environmental science field for the required experience. Must have a valid driver's license with less than 5 points. Preferred Qualifications: One year of field experience completing safety inspections, and Certification in the American Red Cross CPR/First Aid/AED Instructor preferred.
