Description Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and driven Quality & Safety Manager to oversee food safety, quality assurance, and workplace safety programs within our manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of food manufacturing standards and regulatory compliance, and takes a hands-on approach to maintaining a safe, high-quality production environment. Applicants with SQF Practitioner certification will be given top consideration. Candidates who do not currently hold certification must be willing and able to obtain SQF Practitioner credentials within 90 days of employment. Key Responsibilities Food Safety & Quality Management Lead and maintain all aspects of the company’s SQF System, including documentation, audits, verification, and training. Develop, implement, and maintain food safety programs (HACCP, GMP, allergen control, traceability, sanitation). Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, and other applicable food safety regulations. Conduct internal audits, oversee corrective actions, and prepare for customer and third-party audits. Work closely with production and warehouse teams to ensure adherence to all quality and food safety standards. Workplace Safety & Compliance Manage company safety programs, including OSHA compliance, employee safety training, and incident reporting. Lead investigations for any safety or quality incidents and implement corrective/preventive actions. Maintain records of safety inspections, risk assessments, and employee certifications. Partner with maintenance and operations to reduce hazards and improve workplace safety culture. Leadership & Continuous Improvement Serve as the facility’s Food Safety Team Leader and liaison with customers and auditors. Train employees on quality and safety policies, ensuring consistent understanding and compliance. Develop and monitor KPIs related to safety, quality, and sanitation performance. Promote a proactive approach to continuous improvement and employee engagement in both quality and safety. Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience and certification level. Requirements Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field (or equivalent experience). Previous experience in food manufacturing, quality assurance, or food safety management. Prior SQF Practitioner certification strongly preferred; must be willing and able to obtain certification within 90 days of hire. Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, FDA/USDA regulations, and GFSI standards. Proven leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate team members. Excellent documentation, communication, and analytical skills. Experience with safety programs and OSHA compliance required.
