Description
Audubon is currently seeking a Safety and Technical Specialist to join our team in our offsite Office.  The Safety and Technical Specialist will get to train new team members and be the first person to establish safe work behaviors for our new employees. This position also develops and implements safety training to promote a safe work environment.   PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: * Deliver training to personnel on environmental, occupational health, safety related items, and technical topics such as hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems related to wind energy systems * Ensure the effectiveness of training by evaluating the students’ understanding through written tests, practical exercises or other evaluation methods * Provide GWO initial and refresher training in Basic Safety Training (BST), Basic Technical Training (BTT), Advanced Rescue Training (ART), & Slinger Signalman training (SLS). * Provide initial and refresher 1st Aid, CPR, & AED training to employees * Ensure the recording and retention of safety related documents and records * Develop and maintain training documentation and learning management systems * Perform other related duties as assigned or requested   EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS: * At least one (1) year experience in service, maintenance and repair of wind turbines as a field technician * High School Diploma or GED required. * Associate's Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Safety, Environmental Science, Wind Energy Technology or related field preferred. * Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT/Federal Motor Carrier regulations, standards and best practices as applicable to the wind energy sector * Wind Turbine Rescue Trainer through ENSA, Gravitec, GWO or other body preferred * First-Aid/CPR Trainer through Medic First Aid, Health and Safety Institute, American Red Cross or other body preferred * OSHA 501 and 511 preferred * GWO Instructor Qualification Training (IQT) * Documented experience delivering curriculum in a classroom and real-world environment * Valid Driver's License & Acceptable driving record * Reside in the Tonkawa, OK /Nearby area, or willing to relocate * Ability to travel as needed, up to 30% of the time * Able to meet and maintain industry physical fitness requirements.  * Familiarity with planning and presenting EHS training programs  * Use of Microsoft Office suite of software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)  * Strong interpersonal communication skills  * Able to deliver training in multiple subjects and check for understanding by trainee  No Recruiters, please!
