The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a skilled and collaborative Safety and Wellbeing Content and Engagement Lead to join its Safety, Wellbeing and Compliance (SWC) team. This role plays a key part in shaping how safety and wellbeing information is developed, shared and understood across the department, supporting a proactive, informed and inclusive safety culture.
We’re looking for someone who’s passionate about building safer, healthier workplaces and knows how to make complex information clear, practical guidance. This role is about making safety information accessible and actionable, helping people make informed decisions in real world environments. If you’re keen to shape how safety is communicated and understood across a large, diverse organisation, this is a meaningful opportunity to make a lasting impact.
Responsibilities
Keep our Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) systems up to date and aligned with operational needs and best practice (ISO 45001).
Write and update HSW policies, procedures, guides, and training materials.
Make sure our safety content is easy to find and use, especially on our intranet.
Work with teams across the department, including Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs), to make sure our materials are accurate and useful.
Turn technical and legal information into plain language that everyone can understand.
Share HSW messages in different formats like online community posts, articles, intranet updates, emails and videos, so they reach different audiences in the right way.
