Description POSITION SUMMARY Supports the Safety Manager in maintaining a safe and compliant work environment across Apex Geotech manufacturing operations. Assists with safety inspections, incident documentation, training coordination, and day-to-day administration of safety programs. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Conduct routine safety inspections of production areas and document findings • Assist with incident and near-miss investigations; help prepare corrective action reports • Coordinate and support delivery of OSHA-required and company safety training programs • Maintain safety data sheets (SDS) and assist in managing the hazardous chemical program • Support administration of lockout/tagout, confined space, hot work, and permit programs • Collect, track, and enter safety metrics data (TRIR, DART, near-miss rates) • Assist with workers’ compensation documentation and case tracking • Maintain safety program records, files, and compliance documentation • Communicate safety reminders, updates, and alerts to production staff Requirements REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Associate’s degree in Safety, Occupational Health, or related field; or equivalent work experience • 1–3 years of safety-related experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment • OSHA 10-Hour General Industry certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire) • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • OSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification • Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certification or enrollment in ASP program • Experience in metal fabrication or heavy manufacturing environment • First aid/CPR certification PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT Office and manufacturing floor environment. Regular production floor presence required, including exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures. Must be able to stand, walk, and observe operations for extended periods. PPE required in production areas.
