Role: Safety Assurance Business Partner
Location: London (with regular travel to other sites as/when required)
Salary: Competitive Salary with a car allowance plus benefits
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday: 9am to 5pm (35 hours per week)

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience of a health & safety leadership role in the residential built environment sector
  • Experience in a H&S leadership role in medium to large sized organisation
  • Able to develop and drive the implementation of health and safety strategies in collaboration with leadership teams
  • Experience of leading and inspiring health and safety teams
  • Expert in providing critical management information and giving high quality analysis
  • Able to build and implement performance management and assurance controls
  • Experience of running high level audit programmes
  • Able to create simplicity out of complexity, an expert in shaping and delivering key messages to business leaders
  • A proven agent of change
Responsibilities

YOUR ROLE, YOUR IMPACT

As a Safety Assurance Business Partner, you will be an inspiring safety leader who will directly lead and manage the work of the safety assurance team. You will provide leadership in relentlessly developing industry and driving a culture of improvement within the business. This will involve leading the business to identify and mitigate risks and ensure compliance with standards. You will develop and implement tools to effectively audit, monitor and review safety performance in relation to building safety, fire safety and health and safety.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Proactively identify and manage potential hazards and risks within the business
  • Development and implementation of risk mitigation strategies to reduce or eliminate identified hazards.
  • Advise the business on and set in place processes to adherence to relevant safety regulations, standards, and best practices
  • Monitor and review safety management systems to ensure their effectiveness and continuous improvement, implementing improvements where required
  • Promote and develop a strong safety culture within the business working closely with the senior leadership team
  • Oversee the provision and effectiveness of safety training and education to employees
  • Ensure major risks and safety incidents are reported and investigated to determine root causes and prevent recurrence by sharing learning
  • Ensure a suitable audit programme is in place to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance
  • Ensure key safety information is effectively communicated and share concerns with relevant stakeholders
  • Collaborate with all key stakeholders to address safety issues
  • Continuously look for areas for improvement in safety performance and work with business leaders to implement any necessary changes.
  • Continuously horizon scan and stay up to date on the latest and up-coming safety agenda
  • Be accountable to produce quality performance data, analysis and recommendations for the business
  • Set up and maintain governance processes
  • Build positive and open relationships with key stakeholders both inside and outside of the business
  • Lead, mentor and coach the assurance team to develop and deliver clear improvement plans
