Description

The Safety & Compliance Coordinator is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, safety training, and promoting a positive safety culture across the company. This position is based at our office in Columbus, OH

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to train and present to small and large groups.
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with computers and above-average administrative skills.
  • Knowledge of FMCSA, DOT, and other regulatory compliance agencies is a plus.
  • Previous DOT safety/compliance experience preferred (training provided if needed).
  • A CAN-DO attitude and team-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure safety compliance including reporting HOS, Samsara, and driver camera violations.
  • Utilize and manage data from Samsara Systems (experience preferred).
  • Conduct and coordinate employee safety-related training.
  • Prepare and manage documentation for DOT audits and investigations.
  • Collaborate with drivers and customers to resolve safety and compliance issues.
  • Assist in incident reporting and investigations, including accidents, near-misses, property damage, and DOT-reportable events.
  • Support and manage the company drug and alcohol testing program.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with driver hours of service (HOS) regulations; review and correct logs and notify drivers of disciplinary actions.
  • Perform administrative and filing tasks related to safety and compliance.
