Job Description Safety Compliance Project Engineer Japan | Manufacturing / Food Industry We are hiring a Safety Compliance Project Engineer to support the construction and commissioning of a new dairy manufacturing plant in Japan. You will be responsible for equipment safety and regulatory compliance across all project phases—from design and engineering to FAT, SAT, and commissioning—working within a multidisciplinary project engineering team (process, utilities, buildings, packaging). Job Responsibilities: Ensure compliance with machinery safety, ATEX, pressure, environmental, and ISO/IEC standards Act as the safety compliance focal point within the project team Embed safety requirements into specifications, RFQs, and supplier contracts Coordinate suppliers and manage external industrial safety experts Lead safety reviews, risk assessments, and equipment acceptance processes Support closure of safety observations prior to commissioning Qualifications Master's degree in Industrial / Mechanical / Electrical / Process or HSE Engineering 5-10 years' experience in project engineering, industrial safety, or machinery design Strong knowledge of equipment safety, risk assessment, and ISO standards Experience in regulated industrial or manufacturing environments Fluent English (Japanese is a strong plus)
