The Safety, Compliance & Training Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of safety, regulatory compliance, and driver training for our motorcoach operations. This role ensures strict adherence to federal, state, and local transportation regulations (including FMCSA and DOT), fosters a company-wide safety-first culture, and manages risk reduction initiatives. The position covers multiple locations and requires proactive leadership in maintaining driver qualification files, Hours of Service (HOS) compliance, drug and alcohol testing, accident investigations, training programs, and internal audits.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Transportation Management, or related field (preferred).
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in DOT compliance, safety management, and/or driver training in the transportation industry.
• In-depth knowledge of FMCSA regulations, including Parts 382, 383, 391, 392, 393, 395, and 396.
• Proven experience developing and delivering effective training programs.
• Strong organizational, documentation, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with the capacity to engage employees at all levels.
• Proficiency with safety management systems, ELD software (preferably Saucon), and related technologies.
• CDL Class A or B with Passenger & Air Brake endorsement preferred (required for some assignments).
• Ability to travel between company locations as needed.
• Willingness to serve in an on-call capacity for emergencies.

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety and compliance programs aligned with DOT, FMCSA, and state regulations.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date Driver Qualification Files (DQFs), ensuring timely renewals and updates.
• Oversee pre-employment, random, and post-accident drug and alcohol testing programs in accordance with 49 CFR Part 40.
• Monitor Hours of Service compliance, manage ELD data (preferably using Saucon), address violations, and coach drivers on logbook accuracy.
• Lead accident and incident investigations, documentation, and prevention strategies.
• Conduct safety meetings, defensive driving refreshers, and other training sessions for drivers, dispatchers, and staff.
• Perform regular audits and inspections of vehicles, maintenance records, DVIRs, and safety documentation to ensure readiness for DOT audits.
• Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies during inspections, audits, and investigations.
• Collaborate closely with Operations, HR, and Maintenance teams to proactively resolve safety issues and improve processes.
• Track and report safety performance metrics to senior leadership, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Stay current with regulatory changes, industry trends, and safety best practices.
• Participate in on-call rotation to handle after-hours emergencies or service-related issues.
