As an integral part of the John Deere North American Parts Distribution Center’s safety team, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of employees in a 24/7 operation. This entry-level position is perfect for someone eager to grow their career in safety, providing vital support to the 1st shift team and comprehensive coverage for half of the 2nd shift.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough investigations of accidents, incidents, and near misses, collaborating with relevant parties to develop and implement effective corrective actions that reduce risk.
  • Develop and deliver essential John Deere Required and OSHA compliance training to the 2nd shift operation, ensuring all employees are well-informed and compliant.
  • Support the management of mobile equipment certifications and maintain accurate tracking records.
  • Serve as a key resource for risk identification, auditing, and control for the 2nd shift NAPDC operation, spending approximately 50% of your time on the shop floor.
  • Identify and correct potential safety and health hazards, as well as unsafe actions, to prevent on-the-job injuries and illnesses.
  • Contribute to the development of safety processes and programs, including the design and evaluation of components to monitor their effectiveness.
  • Conduct audits to verify compliance with regulations and company policies, ensuring management is aware of identified items for proper corrective actions.
  • Analyze Environmental Health Safety (EHS) metrics to pinpoint areas for improvement.
  • Review new products, equipment, processes, and facilities for potential hazards and compliance, offering recommendations as needed.
  • Communicate and collaborate with safety equipment suppliers.
