Position Summary: As a Safety Coordinator, you will be responsible for facilitating compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) guidelines, improving safety procedures to minimize risk to employees and company assets, and collaborating with team members to ensure and promote safe work practices and a safe working environment. Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions: · Conduct field evaluations and audits of safety compliance to ensure safety is maintained as an essential part of day-to-day activities. · Must have daily communication between Safety and Operations Management · Monitoring and evaluating daily operations and planning procedures to mitigate risks and improve safety regulations. · Analyze accident data, new processes, and machinery for potential safety concerns. · Conduct safety training for all new hires or existing employees who have expired certifications. · Keep inventory of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). · Issue new employees PPE upon completion of the training programs. · Work with the district-level management to support everyday operations. · Complete audits and inspections to ensure all worksites are HSE compliant with company policies and OSHA. · Partner with management in conducting accident and incident investigations, determining root causes, and implementing corrective measures. · Responsible for responding to incidents during non-working hours and alternative weekend callouts. · Write up safety violations and noncompliance issues for management to follow up. · Availability for rotating on-call schedule. · Any other duties as assigned. Requirements · Must have a “safety first” mentality · Must pass a drug/alcohol test and background check · Must be Legally authorized to work in the United States Preferred Qualifications: · Willing to travel up to 50% of the time. · Willingness to work long hours, weekends, and be on-call as needed · Minimum of 3 years of safety-related experience preferably in the oil and gas environment. · First Aid/CPR/AED Training Certification Preferred · OSHA 10 & 30. · HAZWOPER 40 Hour preferred. · Bilingual (Spanish/English) Physical Demands and Work Environment: · Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) including hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, FR clothing, and steel-toe boots as required · Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally. · Primarily field-based with frequent travel to oil & gas sites, construction areas, or industrial facilities. · Exposure to varying outdoor weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and wind. · Work is performed in high-noise, high-activity environments around heavy equipment, pressurized systems, and hazardous materials. · May involve extended hours or on-call duties in response to safety incidents or operational needs. · Must commute to Carlsbad NM, daily.
