Assist with inspections & compliance efforts for all divisions within ALPA & support the implementation of WHS systems & processes in remote locations

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Safety, Fleet and Facilities Manager, this is a hands-on position focused on implementing WHS systems and processes at the coal face across ALPA’s diverse operations. You’ll be actively engaging with a wide range of stakeholders—from site managers to community members—to ensure safety standards are upheld and continuously improved.

THIS ROLE IS NOT ABOUT CREATING POLICY OR STRATEGY; IT’S ABOUT BRINGING EXISTING FRAMEWORKS TO LIFE IN REMOTE COMMUNITIES AND DRIVING REAL-WORLD OUTCOMES. YOU’LL BE A VISIBLE PRESENCE ON THE GROUND, SUPPORTING COMPLIANCE EFFORTS AND CONDUCTING INSPECTIONS ACROSS ALPA’S RETAIL, COMMUNITY SERVICES, ENTERPRISE, AND CORPORATE DIVISIONS.

Travel to remote communities by road or light plane may be required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with site management at a community level to drive improvements in WHS outcomes for all ALPA team members
  • Drive appropriate supplier selection and determining suitability based on ALPA’s business needs
  • Remote and in person site safety audits
  • Assist in creating audit tools and processes in conjunction with the Safety, Fleet and Facilities Manager
  • Work Health and Safety Program management reporting
  • Manage, develop and lead a team of two direct reports
