Please visit our website: www.turnerandtownsend.com Job Description Position: Safety Coordinator Location: Kolkata, India Experience Required: 5+ years Qualification: Diploma/Degree in Industrial Safety + IOSH / NEBOSH certification Industry: Manufacturing / Construction / Industrial Operations (customize as needed) Employment Type: Full-time About the Role We are seeking an experienced and proactive Safety Coordinator to oversee workplace safety programs, ensure legal compliance, and promote a strong safety culture. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in Industrial Safety, hands-on experience in implementing safety systems, and recognized certifications such as IOSH and/or NEBOSH. Key Responsibilities Safety Compliance & Governance Ensure compliance with national safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices. Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of statutory requirements and ensure documentation accuracy (permits, checklists, incident logs, etc.). Incident Prevention & Management Identify potential hazards and implement corrective and preventive actions. Lead incident/accident investigations and prepare reports with root cause analysis. Support emergency response planning and conduct mock drills. Training & Awareness Conduct toolbox talks, safety onboarding, and refresher training for workers and contractors. Promote awareness of safe work practices across all teams. Operational Safety Oversight Monitor site activities to ensure adherence to safety protocols (PPE usage, LOTO, safe lifting, confined space, work-at-height, etc.). Coordinate with site supervisors, contractors, and departmental heads for safe execution of work. Review and approve Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Method Statements, and Work Permits. Documentation & Reporting Maintain safety-related documentation, inspection records, training logs, and compliance reports. Prepare periodic safety performance reports for management review. Skills & Competencies Strong understanding of industrial safety standards and regulatory frameworks. Experience with hazard identification, risk assessment, and mitigation planning. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to influence workforce behavior and build a strong safety culture. Analytical mindset with attention to detail. Qualifications Qualifications Diploma or Degree in Industrial Safety or related discipline. Mandatory IOSH / NEBOSH certification.
