Position Purpose: Planning, establishing, implementing, overseeing, and maintaining a variety of health, safety, and environmental programs to assist in establishing a safe environment for employees. Ensure that Meyer strives to maintain compliance with Occupational Health and Safety guidelines to reduce work-related injuries. Diligent and analytical to focus on injury prevention and have an eye for detail and a sensitivity for potential dangers. Pay: Annual salary based on experience Full-time, salaried role (minimum 45 hours per week) Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST In-office position Occasional travel required; schedule will vary based on business and operational needs Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of safety experience, a degree in Safety Management, or experience in a related management role preferred. Active First Aid certification and completion of the OSHA 30-Hour Course are preferred. High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Business or a related field preferred. Valid Indiana driver's license required. Duties include but are not limited to: Enforce OSHA regulations, standards, and safety guidelines. Conduct accident, injury, and near-miss investigations to identify root causes and corrective actions. Conduct risk assessments and implement effective hazard control measures. Collaborate with leadership to monitor compliance and proactively identify safety concerns. Intervene and correct unsafe behaviors, conditions, or operations. Conduct new hire safety orientations and warehouse safety training as needed. Perform quarterly safety walkthroughs at company facilities and annual audits at remote locations. Evaluate training needs, recommend improvements, and help develop and coordinate company safety programs. Conduct classroom and hands-on Powered Industrial Truck (forklift) certification training. Spend a minimum of two evenings per week on the warehouse floor, coaching employees, reinforcing safe behaviors, and addressing unsafe conditions. Perform drug testing responsibilities and maintain proficiency in reasonable suspicion procedures. Manage and investigate workers' compensation claims, including documentation, reporting, and follow-up. Maintain adequate inventory of first aid supplies and safety equipment. Ensure PPE assignments and compliance records are accurately documented in company systems (e.g., Paylocity). Provide first aid assistance when necessary. Lead weekly safety talks and awareness sessions focused on incident trends, concerns, and preventative measures. Partner with warehouse, logistics, and cross-functional teams to ensure safety remains a top organizational priority. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge of office equipment including copiers, fax machines, computers, etc. Planning/organizing and follow-up skills —the individual prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time efficiently and develops realistic action plans, and follows up to ensure compliance Communication - Must have excellent oral and written communication skills up and down the organizational structure. Effective oral and written communication, effectively relating to all levels Excellent listening skills Computer skills (Word/Excel/ PowerPoint) Problem-solving Ability to identify and deliver creative recommendations/solutions Practice a high level of confidentiality Emotional intelligence First Aid, CPR, and AED training (gain certification to be a trainer if needed) Drug Screening training Ability to work under general supervision and make independent decisions.
