Stone Ridge Contracting, LLC is currently recruiting for a self-motivated Safety Director with a demonstrated ability to multi-task while fully managing the Safety Program at the highest level. This position will be based out of our Pocatello, ID office location.
Stone Ridge Contracting is a Heavy Civil Construction company performing multiple projects across the United States, with approximately 300 full-time employees. Stone Ridge is in several different industries, thus requiring a Safety Director to be well rounded in multiple disciplines. Currently the company works in the Mining, Oil and Gas, Commercial, and Industrial Markets. All of which have different Safety Requirements.
The Safety Director will manage the companies overall Safety Program with a hand-full of direct reports. This position will report directly to the President and owners of the company.
· Responsible for ensuring all projects across the United States are adhering to the companies Safety policies and procedures.
· Ensuring that all Supervisors have the Safety Tools (forms, training, procedures, etc.) needed to complete each and every project.
· Maintaining and updating the Safety Program (creating new policies, procedures, forms, etc.)
· Maintaining all of the company’s 3rd party Safety partners (ISNet World, PEC, Veriforce, MSHA, etc.)
· Ensure that the company is always within DOT compliance.
· Prepare and lead the Weekly Safety Call with all Supervisors and Management staff.
· Keep reporting hours for regulatory agencies.
· Visit all project sites from time to time to lead on Safety.
· Schedule and perform trainings for crew members and supervisors.
· Ensure that every employee is up to date with several trainings.
· Investigating each and every incident. High risk incidents will require Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
· Reporting issues and updating the Owners on the company’s Safety program.

· Working with insurance company in regards to claims. (GL claims as well as Work Comp)

  • Able to prepare and perform presentations to Executive Leadership and Clients
  • Able to prepare and perform in-house training.
  • Intermediate to advance Excel, Word, and PowerPoint programs.
  • Deep understanding of OSHA/MSHA laws and compliance best practices.
  • Ability to travel at a moments notice.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Safety, preferably in the Mining, Oil and Gas, and Commercial industry.
  • Knowledge of Excel and familiarity with Microsoft Word. Should be comfortable with computer applications in general.
  • Superior attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with capability to meet rapid, frequent deadlines.
  • Passion for change and continuous improvement in Safety processes and systems.
  • Excellent communication skills.
