Responsibilities
  • Support and implement Abel Construction Health and Safety policies and programs.
  • Conduct risk assessments and enforce preventative measures.
  • Perform job site safety inspections and complete safety audits.
  • Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or life threatening.
  • Conduct equipment inspections (i.e. fall protection equipment).
  • Manage safety on projects / shutdowns.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, near misses, etc.
  • Complete incident reports to include root cause, interim and permanent corrective actions.
  • Complete Pre-task Analysis (PTA) / Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
  • Create and implement Site Specific Safety Plans per client requests and/or for high hazard jobs.
  • Initiate, organize and complete safety training of employees.
  • Collect, log in and maintain employees training matrix’s.
  • Maintain education & currency with state and federal OSHA regulations.
  • Distribute personnel safety awards.
  • Notify Director of Safety of serious safety infractions.
  • Conduct CPR/FA/AED/BBP training.
