Job Description As a ATM Safety Engineer you will work with team in project delivery, producing deliverables for Safety needs analysis and safety risk management for Air Traffic Management (ATM) systems used within critical aviation (airports and ATC) infrastructures and state-level systems. You will work in both new deployment projects (greenfield) and in enhancing the safety needs analysis and safety evidence and assurance level of existing systems (brownfield). Interaction, compromise and support of related disciplines such as cybersecurity and regulatory compliance is key. This position is part of a global team working in a variety of industrial specialisms and with a common interest in advancing safety in operational aviation and ATM environments. Client Needs Analysis: Thoroughly understand the specific safety-related activities and requirements of clients for their aviation and ATM projects. Analyze technical specifications and clauses, synthesize them, and provide expert advice and inputs on safety methodology in accordance with the client's needs. Risk Assessment, and Safety Engineering for CNS/ ATM systems: Driving projects for our clients’ projects by leading the safety engineering work for CNS/ ATM systems e.g. Hazards Identification, Hazards Log, FMECA, Fault Tree Analysis, Safety Arguments, Safety Case etc. Be able to drive and produce studies and reports that provide details of analysis and recommendations for the safety engineering work. Safety Methodology Expertise: Demonstrable knowledge and familiarity with best practices and fundamentals of safety methodology e.g. Hazards definition and identification, FMECA, Fault Tree, Fishbone, Safety Management Systems (SMS) methods etc. Able to provide expert advice and inputs for safety methodology queries from clients personnel and Egis team. Being able to conduct safety workshops with multi-disciplinary teams and participants. Safety Regulations Expertise: Demonstrable knowledge and familiarity with safety regulations in CNS/ATM domain e.g. ICAO, EASA, regulations on Software Assurance etc. Able to provide expert advice and inputs for safety regulations queries from clients personnel and Egis team. Qualifications Degree or above in computer science, electronic engineering, system engineering, or equivalent At least 5 years of experience in delivering safety consultancy services for ANS equipment and CNS/ATM systems, including safety risk assessment and safety workshops Skilled in Goal Structuring Notation (GSN) method Thorough knowledge on ESARR4 and ESARR6 Aviation Background and knowledge of ATC operations Organisational and prioritisation skills Strong research and analytic skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Stronge working experience in CNS, ATM and/ or ANSPs sector. Strong working knowledge of safety engineering in the aviation/ ATM environment.
