We are seeking a full-time Safety Engineer to lead and enhance safety initiatives across our vibrant community. This role is critical in maintaining a secure, compliant, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors across independent living, assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing settings. Key Responsibilities: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations (OSHA, CMS, NFPA, USBC) and maintain required documentation, logs, and inspection reports. Conduct internal safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations; develop corrective action plans. Oversee fire safety, emergency power, and life safety systems; coordinate drills, disaster preparedness, and infection control measures. Maintain the Emergency Operations Plan (EOP), lead response planning for disasters and emergencies, and serve as Safety Officer and Active Shooter authority. Develop and deliver staff training on workplace safety, hazard communication, ergonomics, and resident safety; support QAPI initiatives and safety committees. Collaborate with Facilities, Maintenance, and local emergency agencies to address safety and preparedness concerns. Track safety metrics, prepare leadership reports, and recommend improvements based on trends and KPIs Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, or related field required. 5 - 7 years of experience in healthcare, senior living, hospital, or long-term care environments preferred; regulatory survey and compliance experience strongly preferred. Preferred certifications: Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Healthcare Safety Certification (CHSP or equivalent). Strong knowledge of healthcare safety regulations, life safety codes, risk assessments, and root cause analyses. Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments. Proficiency in safety reporting systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Physical requirements: ability to walk extensively across campus, inspect mechanical rooms and rooftops, and be on-call during emergencies.
