Location: MOD Abbey Wood Rate: Up to £420/day Duration: 01/04/2026 to 30/06/2026 (extension possible) Deadline for Applications: 19/02/2026 at 12:30pm Role Summary The Safety Engineer will support the delivery of Acquisition Safety policy and solutions within a regulated MOD environment. The role focuses on through-life management of project safety risk, supporting the safe and suitable delivery of equipment, systems and services to Front Line Commands. Key Responsibilities Support the generation of technical safety requirements and documentation for sub-systems. Identify, collate and evaluate technical safety data to support project documentation maturity. Apply relevant safety legislation, regulation, policy, processes and standards. Contribute to technical risk management activities at project and programme level. Support the development, review and maintenance of safety artefacts and safety cases. Collaborate with stakeholders on technical safety requirements. Support system safety test, verification, validation and evaluation activities. Assist with through-life safety support, modification, disposal and decommissioning activities. Contribute to technical assurance activities within the safety discipline. Essential Experience & Qualifications STEM qualification at RQF Level 3 or equivalent. Experience providing technical advice and supporting delivery of engineering outcomes. Experience working within regulated engineering environments. Working towards professional registration (EngTech or RSciTech) with a relevant professional body.
