Description

The Safety Engineer reports administratively and functionally to the Safety Chief. He is charged with advising the Safety Chief on matters involving the organization and effective implementation of safety, environmental protection and operation, and fire oil/ chemical prevention/ protection, and emergency preparedness and response programs. It is his responsibility to keep and maintain fire protection, oil and chemical spill control equipment, personal protective equipment (PPE) and immediately respond to fire, gaseous release or oil and chemical spill incidents. It is also his duty to effectively implement safety programs, fire prevention, oil and chemical spill prevention and mitigation, environmental protection and security programs and coordinates compliance and implementation of safety, health, environment and security procedures and programs.

Responsibilities

The Safety Engineer advises the Safety Chief on safety and environmental matters and is responsible for implementing safety programs. He also maintains fire protection and spill control equipment and responds to incidents.
