Job Details Job Location: Athens-Clarke - Pavilion - Athens, GA 30606 Position Type: Full-Time/Part-Time Salary Range: $15.00 - $17.00 Job Shift: All shifts available! Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Lead Safety Guard, the safety guards within the BHCC provide persons, families, or vulnerable populations with support needed to cope with chronic, acute, or terminal illnesses, physical or developmental disabilities. The role of this position is to ensure the safety of all clients, staff and visitors to the BHCC. Duties and Responsibility Provide support to the Crisis Walk in by maintaining presence in the area while also assisting with wanding and storing clients/visitors belongings upon entering building. Provide support to the Crisis Stabilization unit by maintaining presence in the area while also assisting with any needs of the unit, including assistance with de-escalation of clients as a part of the response team, if indicated. Monitor premises to ensure there are no safety concerns. Document any important information, incidents or items to be aware of in the Daily Action Log, to ensure proper shift change report. Professional Development: Participates in internal and external educational programs and professional meetings as available for continuing professional education Ensures Adherence to Program Guidelines/Requirements/Expectations: Demonstrates a diverse knowledge of rules, regulations that govern the agency. Stays current on updates/changes in regulations and requirements of DBHDD and other overseers of services. Ensures ongoing adherence to all agency policies. Customer Service: Represents the agency and program in an informed and courteous manner with all external contacts and community linkages Maintains professional behavior when completing tasks and interacting with others as a team member Communicates effectively and collaboratively with others to obtain information Promotes customer satisfaction and assists with resolving grievances, complaints and inquiries Works with BHCC staff in a team approach Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma Preferred Qualifications: Previous security experience Previous CPI training experience Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
