YOUR EXPERIENCES AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety or other relevant discipline
  • Significant experience and track record of setting a vision and delivering strong outcomes across a large, complex, manufacturing environment
  • Exceptional communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills
  • In-depth, practical experience in workers compensation and return to work case management
  • Experience in incident investigation and the development of preventative measures
  • Demonstrable proactive attitude towards risk management and injury reduction / performance improvement programs.
  • Experienced liaising with Regulatory bodies
  • Sound working knowledge of relevant legislation and standards in Australia
  • Prior experience developing, maintaining and improving SHE management systems and processes
  • Presentation and facilitation skills demonstrated at both Executive and frontline levels
  • Familiarity with CI methodologies including Lean and Six sigma

Responsibilities

The Safety, Health and Environment Manager is responsible for leading a dedicated team of professionals and developing a long-term road map. This will incorporate the development of annual strategic and operational plans with KPIs to mitigate risk and minimise harm to our six hundred plus employees and contractors across our manufacturing functions based in North Ryde.
Your key goal will be to utilise AstraZeneca’s values to embed an overarching culture focused on safety, employee wellbeing and sustainability, ensuring that all activities and staff comply with the relevant standards and that plans for the continuous improvement of the performance of Safety, Health and Environment are implemented and monitored.
Along with the development and implementation of Industry leading initiatives, you will deliver business critical projects whilst continuously seeking to optimise and maintain best in class systems including policies and practices, balancing business and compliance requirements for the current and future needs of our growing site.
Critical to your success in this role will be your ability to influence and empower all employees to take ownership and contribute to site safety and sustainability
