At Babcock we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together, and if you join us, you can play your part as a Safety, Health and Environment Practitioner at our Devonport Royal Dockyard site.

THE ROLE

As a Safety, Health and Environment Practitioner, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will join a dynamic and proactive team implementing strategic and operational Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) plans in support of our objectives.

Day-to-day, you’ll ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations while developing and implementing policies to effectively manage risks and hazards.

  • Provide guidance on safe systems of work and risk assessments, ensuring hazards are identified and mitigated.
  • Support the Health and Safety Manager in developing effective safety and environmental protection strategies.
  • Assist the audit manager in delivering health, safety, and environmental audits, maintaining accurate records.
  • Conduct workplace inspections and informal walkabouts to monitor compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to uphold ISO45001 and ISO14001 accreditation and prevent incident recurrence.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.
There is an opportunity for Optimised Working Patterns (OWP) within this role. OWP is a temporary variation to your standard terms and condition that commits you to support 7-day working arrangements. For full details of the patterns, pay and durations, this can be found in the OWP 1 and OWP 2 agreements (available from hiring manager).
